Battalion: the playing card game

By Rohmone Kozlova (Lintmod)
Rev 1.0 - 20260426
Requires 1× standard deck of playing cards including the jokers
Supports 2-4 players, ideally 2.
Time: rounds are pretty quick, 5-10 minutes depending on the players.
Instructions:Each player picks a suit and gets all cards of that suit.
To set up each player places their jack, queen and king onto the field, these are your generals, with each card fighting the card of the same type (i.e. jack vs jack, queen vs queen etc.) the rest of your numbered cards in your hand are your soldiers, determine who goes first, they can allocate as many of their soldiers face down to each general as they want, once done the next player does the same.
When all cards are allocated the fight begins, starting from jack, then queen, then king, for each general reveal the allocated cards, scoring will take place to determine the winning battalion, keep note of the following:- Aces have a value of 1 when scoring
- The same cards in each battalion will cancel each other out and will not count towards total score (if both players allocated a 7 to their jack, both will be removed from the battalions when scoring)
- Highest combined value of each battalion wins; flip over the losing general to confirm the loss
- Tied total scores will result in both generals losing, flip both face down. (If playing more than 2 players and the tie is not the lowest score, flip over the lowest score first, then flip over the tied score)
Once all 3 battles conclude the player with the most face up generals wins, if the score is the same then it's a draw, replay to determine a winner.Joker Rule: as the player going first has the disadvantage of allocating first they can also use a joker when allocating, the joker has a value of 0 and is only used to play mind games with the opponent, if the game has more than 2 players a 2nd joker can be given to the 2nd player as well.If you would like to submit feedback please email me: [email protected]
